PCB related issues

Due to the use of PCBs (for their fire resistant properties) the electrical and power generation industries are particularly susceptible or even influential with PCB related issues

How to prevent PCB related issues

  • Conduct Inventories- Detailed Inventories should be conducted on equipment that may potentially contain PCBs
  • Manage properly – practice proper storage, handling and securing to avoid environmental and human contamination (including PPE
  • Avoid cross contamination – If you are exposed to PCBs in the workplace, you should shower and change before leaving work, and your work clothes should be kept separate from other clothes and laundered separately
  • Dispose Properly – Determine and conduct environmentally sound disposal to avoid environmental and human contamination (see http://www.nttworldwide.com/docs/uneppcb.pdf)
